Welcome to October ...

Our October challenge is a nod to the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and an important time for NBCF to highlight why research in this area is so crucial. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, with 9 people losing their lives to the disease every day.

The only way to stop deaths from breast cancer is by funding research to improve our understanding of how breast cancer originates, grows and spreads so that we can stop it in its tracks. Join us to progress our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

I don't think there would be many amongst us who haven't been touched by this insidious disease in some way - be it yourself, your grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, family member, friend or colleague, so if you can, please make a donation to this worthy cause.  Your contribution matters!

Our OCTOBER challenge will be PINK with stitching in some way on your layout. Thank you all so very much for all your wonderful September entries. They were all fabulous!

Criteria for October - please use STITCHING somehow on your layout.

Please use white cardstock as your base. You can use black, dark brown, grey or navy as your accent colour for journaling, titles etc and we will allow green if part of a floral pattern. We'd love to see you take inspiration from this board and incorporate items you see and inspire you. You may be inspired by the saying and can incorporate it into your layout in some way.  Perhaps you love roses and wish to use some on your page.  You may want to to focus on the underwear aspect of this board or use fabric or feathers and texture on your layout. You might like to document some pink cocktails at a Breast Cancer charity event. Please mention what inspired you on your entry.

and now some totally amazing inspiration from our wonderful 2024 team in no particular order.

Amanda Moran (Australia)
Poolside drinks in Bali layout using Coco Vanilla. Inspired by the swimmers/underwear and drinks in the mood board. Lots of machine stitching in the background.

Victoria King (Australia)
Inspired by the quote, because there is usually a lot of laughter and a bit of mischief when we get together to scrap 🩷  Circles stitched by hand.

Heather Bensley (Australia)

Karen Brierley (Australia)
The moodboard hot pink images inspired me to create an 'all girl' party layout. I don't often create with pink, but I like to have fun with it when I do.

Tracey Beer (Australia)

Karen Guy (Australia)
I was inspired by the Quote and this photo came to mind of a fun day at golf for Breast Cancer, had fun with a little stitching everywhere!!

Jane Howden (Australia)

In 2024 we will have one main prize each month selected by random draw.  If we have over 15 entries I will do an additional prize draw.

This is open to all entrants so anyone could be a winner.

Plus there will be a special "Admin Choice" winner who will receive an invitation to guest with us next month.

To enter please visit our Facebook public group White with 1 challenges and put your entry directly into our monthly album under media.

All entries must be new for this challenge and the original work of the entrant. Please remember we are a layout only challenge - cards, OTP or pocket page entries (etc) are not eligible for prizes. Your entry must be submitted on a white cardstock background with the one extra colour added - small amounts of brown, navy or black may be used for contrast and we will allow green if part of a floral pattern. International entries are welcome.

We'd love to see how you use our White with 1 colour combination this month. Please come and join in with us! You have until the end of the month to get your entry in.
