Our November guest ...

Please welcome our November guest designer, Sharon Ettwell with her wonderful take on our GREEN moodboard (with spray ink) challenge this month.

I took my inspiration from the beautiful greenery pictured and also the Paint tins with all the different sizes.

I have used Distress Oxide Spray in twisted citron, mowed lawn, forest moss, using the smooshing technique, then stamped my branches of leaves then fussy cut them out. I also used the twisted citron straight from the bottle for my splatters.

Hello,

Welcome to November ...

Welcome to NOVEMBER and our GREEN with white and USE THIS element of spray ink.

USE THIS criteria -  Spray Ink

This year we are continuing with using a base colour and allowing you to use any variation of that colour you might like to use - light, dark, colour ranges just so long as we can tell it IS the monthly colour.  Of course you MUST use a majority of white on your page - the easiest way to achieve this is to use a white cardstock background but that is up to you.

We are also introducing a simple monthly "Use this" criteria for you to include on your entry.

You can use black, dark brown, grey or navy as your accent colour for journaling, titles etc and we will allow green if part of a floral pattern.  We'd love to see you take inspiration from this board and incorporate items you see and inspire you - perhaps you like the distressed look you see on the painted door and would like to replicate it or just use paint itself, like leaves and foliage and want to use them on your page. You might be drawn to the nature themes or the rectangular frames you see in the drawer or perhaps wish to incorporate crayon work onto your layout or just feature cooking or kitchen items. Whatever the inspiration please tell us what caught your eye.

Karen Guy (Australia)
The Old building was my inspiration, and with green, easy to find these photos from Ireland, I have used an Ink Spray to make my background and several green Ink sprays on another piece of white cardstock and stamped and cut out my leaves!

Karen Brierley (Australia)
Lots of leafy inspiration in the images, so I went with a forest theme. I used Smooch Spritz spray in Emerald Green.

Tracey Beer (Australia)
I used Dylusions ink spray in Dirty martini, sprayed it onto a stamp, stamped it on the page, then sprizted the stamp with water and stamped again. I then added some of the ink spray to some impasto and scraped it through a stencil. 3 looks from the one ink spray.

Heather Bensley (Australia)
I was inspired by all the circles and the leaves.

Amanda Moran (Australia)

Victoria King (Australia)
I was inspired by the trees on the mood board and hopefully my spray reflects the movement of the water at Pupu Springs (Te Waikoropupu Springs, NZ)

Lisa Kynaston (Austalia)
Taking Inspiration from the old painted door, I have used spray ink on a textured Gesso background.

Jane Howden (Australia)
Applied my spray ink via the smooth plastic packaging method and was inspired by the foliage and the trees.

This year we will have one main prize each month selected by random draw.

This is open to all entrants so anyone could be a winner however should an international winner be selected I reserve the right to offer a store gift card in lieu of a physical prize.

My name is Amanda Hartmann and I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years! Over the years my style has changed. I have always loved patterned papers but also, I love combining mixed media to create my own backgrounds. Embellishments are my favourite thing to finish a page. Welcome to October ...

Welcome to OCTOBER and our ORANGE with white moodboard with USE THIS element of Flair.

USE THIS criteria -  Flair

This year we are continuing with using a base colour and allowing you to use any variation of that colour you might like to use - light, dark, colour ranges just so long as we can tell it IS the monthly colour.  Of course you MUST use a majority of white on your page - the easiest way to achieve this is to use a white cardstock background but that is up to you.

You might be drawn to the books or the rectangular frames you see in the door or painting and would like to incorporate them into your layout or feature the citrus or the little bird. Whatever the inspiration please tell us what caught your eye.

and now some totally amazing inspiration from our wonderful 2023 team ...
(in no particular order)

Heather Bensley (Australia)

Amanda Moran (Australia)
I was inspired by the citrus, drinks and layout of the mood board. Two flairs on either side of the page.

Karen Guy (Australia)

Karen Brierley (Australia)
I started with the soda bottle from the mood board, and went with a food theme.
Design tip: Use word stickers to customise flair to suit your page.

Tracey Beer (Australia)
Inspired by the oranges so embossed some orange circles. It's a long bow I know so just use your imagination!

Victoria King (Australia)
If you are wondering how I created this background it is a stencil which has 4 layers, so I did an ink layer, a paint layer, a paste layer and then the windows are a bead paste.

Lisa Kynaston (Austalia)
I was inspired by the Books, with a reading theme photo and the stacked book effect in the background.

Jane Howden (Australia)
Inspired by the citrus and the patterns in the blankets to help create my page.

This year we will have one main prize each month selected by random draw.

This is open to all entrants so anyone could be a winner however should an international winner be selected I reserve the right to offer a store gift card in lieu of a physical prize.

Our September guest ...

Please welcome our September guest designer, Kathy Price, with her delightful take on our BLACK and White moodboard (with washi) challenge this month.

I was inspired by the pencils first so I changed my photos using a pencil drawing app. The texture of the bed linen jumped out at me so I hand stitched and wove the black and white thread behind the photos. Washi incorporated the clocks and the splash of colour in bottom photo reflected the splash of light from bottom middle prompt. The Aztec designs and feel were followed through with the paper strips and washi behind the photos and across the waving. Finally the thin lettering inspired the thin font choice for the title.

Hi there, I have been an avid scrapbookers for 20 years, thanks to a very special friend who finally encouraged me into the illuminating world of paper design with photos to capture history as it happens in the everyday life of everyday people. I call my style eclectic, changing to suit my creative mood, design brief memos and call from the photos or events. I am a paper junkie and love the beauty that evolves with the cutting up and rearranging of this essential scrapbook element.

You can follow me on instagram @kathyloves2scrap as well as my blog - kathyscr.blogspot.com and my YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2b5YkXgkPelS885jjHv4fA

Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little about me and my work.

Here are two of my recent layouts that I love.

Thank you so much for taking the time to guest with us this month Kathy.  It's been a real pleasure.

There is still plenty of time to join in with our challenge this month - we'd love to see your take using black and white.
