 AMY CHURCHWARD

Hello Everyone! A little about me. I am married to a wonderful husband and we have 2 beautiful boys who I love to scrap. I have been scrapping for over 10years. And very much do love working with white cardstock and tend to get arty from there. I also love being apart of this special community.

NOVEMBER

SHARON ETTWELL

I took my inspiration from the beautiful greenery pictured and also the Paint tins with all the different sizes.

I have used Distress Oxide Spray in twisted citron, mowed lawn, forest moss, using the smooshing technique, then stamped my branches of leaves then fussy cut them out. I also used the twisted citron straight from the bottle for my splatters.

Hello,

My name is Sharon Ettwell and I have been Scrapbooking for almost 20 years, I also love mix media and art journaling.

My Husband Wayne and I have been married for 47 years and we have one Son, a lovely Daughter-in-law and two gorgeous Grand-Daughters, all of whom are the stars of my layouts.

OCTOBER

AMANDA HARTMANN

I added some book paper to the design , inspired by the books in the image prompts.

My name is Amanda Hartmann and I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years! Over the years my style has changed. I have always loved patterned papers but also, I love combining mixed media to create my own backgrounds. Embellishments are my favourite thing to finish a page. Creating the perfect and interesting embellishment cluster is part of my signature style!

SEPTEMBER

KATHY PRICE

I was inspired by the pencils first so I changed my photos using a pencil drawing app. The texture of the bed linen jumped out at me so I hand stitched and wove the black and white thread behind the photos. Washi incorporated the clocks and the splash of colour in bottom photo reflected the splash of light from bottom middle prompt. The Aztec designs and feel were followed through with the paper strips and washi behind the photos and across the waving. Finally the thin lettering inspired the thin font choice for the title.

Hi there, I have been an avid scrapbookers for 20 years, thanks to a very special friend who finally encouraged me into the illuminating world of paper design with photos to capture history as it happens in the everyday life of everyday people. I call my style eclectic, changing to suit my creative mood, design brief memos and call from the photos or events. I am a paper junkie and love the beauty that evolves with the cutting up and rearranging of this essential scrapbook element.

AUGUST

MELISSA VENTURI

Thankyou for the opportunity to guest design for the August Monthly Challenge!! I was instantly drawn to the light bulbs with the flowers on the mood board!! When I saw it was yellow this month I knew the photo that I wanted to use and the light bulb die to go with it!! Also the circular shape of the glasses made me think of getting into my stash for some buttons!! The “Use This” is stamping which I did some faint yellow texture stamping behind my clusters and also the bigger flowers you can see. I am not a huge stamper but I really love the extra layer it gave to my clusters.

This photo is of my eldest son Soren, who is now 15!!

I hope this inspires you to have a go this month!!

Hi everyone, I work in admin at the Beaudesert Hospital, in the maternity unit at the moment and loving it! I love to create scrapbooking pages, cards and mini albums. When I scrapbook I like to keep my layouts quite flat. I have four children so I have plenty of photos for scrapbooking but I don’t have room for hundreds of albums (not until the kids leave home anyway!)

JULY

 GAIL (aka ionabunny)

I used a Rubber Dance stencil in the background and Rubber Dance stamps for the owl and sentiments.  I made my title sentiment into a round tag and also included a kraft tag which I pierced and threaded with twine.  There are also a couple of diecut elements either side of the photo of me watching sunset over the fjord.

Hi, my name is Gail aka ionabunny.  I am British and trained as a scientist, but I moved to Norway in 2005 where I keep rabbits and chickens and grow my own vegetables. I also craft with paper and glass.  I found blogland in 2012 and have an active blog.  I help manage an international card exchange called the Card Chain Challenge and am also Design Team Manager for Lost Coast Designs stamps (USA) and Rubber Dance stamps (Germany).  I call my style simple, but seldom clean.  I enjoy mixed media and mixed techniques and trying anything new and mostly make cards, tags, ATC's etc.  Layouts are actually a bit out of my comfort zone, but I have been enjoying following White With 1 and occasionally playing along.  I was surprised and overjoyed when my May layout was picked as admin's choice.  Thanks so much for having me as a guest designer.  I hope you like my interpretation of brown and white with tags.

JUNE

WENDY WATSON

The coral layout was made using a stencil to cut out the paper sections then using another stencil and ink I did the in between sections. Over the paper using the same stencil I used gesso and applied small beads while it was still wet. I matted the photo in white and raised this on foam. Then using flowers, lace flowers, wooden buttons and cogs as embellishments. I painted the chipboards title with gesso then stamped the black print over this.

I am married with 4 grown up boys and 3 gorgeous grandkids and 2 fur babies. I am a full time school teacher who in my spare time loves having my hands occupied in many different crafts including crochet, sewing and patchwork. Over the last few years I have started into paper crafts. I have followed a few online classes and then just experimented. My style ranges between simple to lots of embellishments. I have also just started to use more mixed media. I mainly do scrapbooking but also some cards and journals. Being in my craft room is certainly my happy place.

MAY

 DALE TIERNAN

As I’m working on my Borneo holiday album, I chose two photos that had the mood board colour in them.

I immediately saw the chevron pattern and knew that I wanted to use that. The patterned paper I chose reminded me of the picture of the pencils. It also had words written on it.

I also added two different mint butterflies. Plus, I added two types of stitching. One is machine stitching on the patterned paper and the other is faux stitching using pen.

My name is Dale Tiernan. I’m from Western Australia, where I live with my husband. We have two adult sons.

I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a child. I took it up again as an adult in 2003. I taught it with Creative Memories for a while whilst my children were small.

I love the memory keeping aspect of it, but also I love being creative. I also make cards and sometimes do off the page items.

I have a blog which you can take a look at:

MARCH

BRANDI JO

I was inspired by the water, striped umbrella & starfish to go with a beach theme! I used Lunar Paste with a stencil as I don’t have any Gesso in my stash.

Hi, I’m Brandi! I am a full-time mama, part-time paper crafter! My boys are 4 and 2.5 & full of energy. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I am currently loving scrapping single page 12x12 layouts with the occasional double page spread. I’ve been scrapbooking since I was in late Elementary school when my Aunt got me started with 8.5x11 albums to hold my Girl Scouts memories and photos. I quickly moved to 12x12 and have too many albums to count! My husband jokes he’s a little concerned about what it’s gonna look like years from now, especially having so many photos of the boys to scrap!

I love using sketches or other design prompts to get started. My favorite part of the process is definitely picking colors and mixing and matching papers and embellishments to create the perfect combo! I’ve been really branching out and love trying new ideas with mixed media. Stenciling is my go-to! Some of my favorite manufacturers right now are Carta Bella, Echo Park, PinkFresh Studio, Vicki Boutin, Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Simple Stories. Happy scrapping!

I share my layouts on Instagram - scrappy.boymama
