Welcome to August ...

 Welcome to our August moodboard.

Our colour this month is a tribute to Cancer Council Daffodil Day - Thursday, 31st August, 2023.  I don't think there would be many amongst us who haven't been touched by this insidious disease in some way so if you can, please pick up a pen or a teddy or something else from one of their many stalls or make a donation in person or on line.  Your contribution matters!

Daffodil Day is one of Australia’s best known and most popular fundraising events.
Each day more than 100 Australians will die of cancer. Daffodil Day raises funds for Cancer Council to continue its work in cancer research, providing patient support programs and prevention programs to all Australians. Daffodil Day helps grow hope for better treatments, hope for more survivors, hope for a cure.

To Cancer Council, the daffodil represents hope for a cancer-free future. You too can help in the fight against cancer by participating in Daffodil Day. Daffodil Day merchandise is on sale throughout August, and you can donate to Daffodil Day at any time.

Something a little exciting is also happening in August! We are doing a combined moodboard challenge with Soul Scrappers Challenges which means you do the one layout, upload here and over in the Soul Scrappers Challenges monthly moodboard album and have two chances to win!

Criteria for August - please use STAMPING somehow on your layout.

Please use our mood board to inspire you – you will need to use YELLOW (any variation of YELLOW you want to use) on a WHITE background plus take some inspiration from the moodboard, it could be a shape or pattern, theme or items contained within it. You might like a particular element or use of background. You can use black (or navy/dark brown or a little gold/silver) as an accent colour only. Please don’t forget to tell us what inspired you.

We welcome a new member to our team this month, Lisa Kynaston, and say a sad farewell to long time team member, Theresa Kamp, and hope that she can get back to her beloved scrapbooking very soon.

and now some totally amazing inspiration from our wonderful 2023 team ...
(in no particular order)

Lisa Kynaston (Austalia)
Yellow is one of my Favourite colours and I just had to use these photo's. I have used stamping in the Title and the heart is stamped and fussy cut. My inspiration was taken from the Circle shapes, flowers and the curtain framing but i tipped it on it's side.

Victoria King (Australia)
I was inspired by the circle of the disc and the flowers. I have stamped and embossed the big car and my flowers.

Amanda Moran (Australia)
My instant inspiration was the Van Gogh book 💛 Just knew I had to scrap a photo from our Melbourne visit to Van Gogh Live! It was amazing 🤩
Stamped text in the background, lots of stars and even stamped my title (haven’t done that in a while)!
The quote in the photo says “I don’t know anything with certainty but seeing the stars makes me dream”🤩💛

Karen Brierley (Australia)
Inspired by the books - I used a reading theme and book page. Stamping: 2x stamped cameras.

Tracey Beer (Australia)

Karen Guy (Australia)
The Van Gogh was my instant inspiration, using this photo with my grandchildren enjoying the Van Gogh experience in Brisbane, I have stamped my background and stamped and moulded the handmade sunflowers!

Heather Bensley (Australia)
For this challenge I chose to use the sunglasses, the bike, circles and the flowers. I took inspiration from the Van Gogh painting Sunflowers. Then I used stamps on the background and I also stamped the flowers and then painted and fussy cut.

Jane Howden (Australia)
Not overly difficult to work out my inspiration this month. Loving the bike theme.

This year we will have one main prize each month selected by random draw.

This is open to all entrants so anyone could be a winner however should an international winner be selected I reserve the right to offer a store gift card in lieu of a physical prize.

Plus there will be a special "Admin Choice" winner who will receive an invitation to guest with us next month.

To enter please visit our Facebook public group White with 1 challenges and put your entry directly into our monthly album under media.

All entries must be new for this challenge and the original work of the entrant. Please remember we are a layout only challenge - cards, OTP or pocket page entries (etc) are not eligible for prizes. Please also remember you may ONLY combine your challenge with a sketch challenge. Your entry must be predominantly white with the one extra colour added - small amounts of brown, navy or black may be used for contrast and we will allow green if part of a floral pattern.
