Welcome to December ...

And suddenly it was December and Christmas is right around the corner.  We hope you can squeeze in a little time to play along with us this month using this awesome colour which goes so very well with white.  Just because it is the festive season I am going to relax the rules just a little and you can submit a journal page, mixed media or off the page item as well as layouts (for this month only).

We hope you like our inclusion of a sketch courtesy of PageMaps to help inspire you further. You don't have to use this to put in an entry but we'd love it if you do :)

Some of the gold is not quite showing up on the photo of my layout, but the white leaves have all been sprayed with gold ink, and the stitched stamping are a light gold ink. The butterfly and xxx stitches are gold foil.

Gold is hard to get right in photos but it is very sparkly and pretty in real life. This was a fun sketch too.

Who doesn't love gold? Such fun making a whole page just with gold elements. I've got some gold embossed stars in the background and lots of sparkly layers.

From the sketch I did a border top and bottom (with my gold and white Christmas washi tapes), and a block in the middle with the banner pieces and circular elements. I created a large title with white and gold alphas, and did simple embellishing as it really didn't need a lot with all that shiny and sparkly gold! I will add where the photo was taken, but I didn't need a large journaling spot on this layout as it is pretty self explanatory. Merry Christmas everyone!

I really didn't have many gold elements as you can see, but I splashed some gold ink on the background and added gold washi tape on the top and bottom, some diecuts, stars and a ribbon clip.
