Hello January ...

Welcome to 2018.  Here's to a wonderful year for all of us !

Introducing our first colour of 2018 and a mood board to help inspire you ...

Bayou Blue

and some totally amazing inspiration from our new team ...

(in no particular order)

Marie-France Boulay (Canada)

I was totally inspired by the m&m's! So I used different sizes of round punches to create shapes and movement on my page.

Caroline Elliam (Canada)

I made my background with a resist technique with gel medium over a stencil and I added Bavarian blue magical shaker from Lindy's gang over it for a watercolor effect. I've also painted the blue leaves and wrote the "Sea" with the same blue. From the moodboard I put on some sequins that reminds me the m&m's.

Jessica Toulmin (New Zealand)

I was inspired by the textiles and textures in the moodboard, as well as the circles of the blue candy.

Lisa Marie Watling (South Africa)

 I was inspired by the fabric, the stripes, the writing on the M&M's and also that they form "dots"!

Melinda France (Australia)

I was inspired by the circle shape of M&M’s, the glaze on the pits and the texture of the rugs/towels. So tried to incorporate thread, sewing, circles and used blue ink and embossing powder to colour and glaze some embellishments. Xx

Lisa Johnston (Australia)

Natsuko Suzuki (Japan)

I used watercolors, oil pastels and acrylic paint to create the shades of blue on the background. I took inspiration from the m&m's and dipped a pencil cap in ink and stamped circles. I was also inspired by the rough textures, so I layered the photo with cloth and and tucked some thread under it.

Tanya Heritage (Australia)

I loved the Bayou Blue colour which matched perfectly with Wes’ shirt. I think this is a first that I haven’t used flowers in a layout.

Louise Turner (Australia)

I replicated the rug image with the stripes to create my background.

Michelle Van Oudtshoorn (New Zealand)

Inspired by the denim and stripes, plus the texture of the plant pots.

All entries must be new for this challenge and the original work of the entrant. You may combine our challenge with a sketch challenge only - no other combining will be accepted and please remember we are a layout only challenge - cards, OTP, pocket pages etc are not eligible for prizes. Your entry must be predominantly white with the one extra colour added - small amounts of brown, navy or black may be used for contrast. International entries are welcome.
