GUEST DESIGNERS 2021

DECEMBER/JANUARY

POLLY LIBBY

"I love red and white and found this the perfect opportunity to showcase some of my Christmas decorations.  Lots of snowflakes were added to match the theme as well as the snowman and tree die cuts."

"Hi!  My name is Polly and I live in sunny North Carolina with my two poodle-mix pups, Sadie & Chloe.  They are the focus on many of my scrapbook layouts these days.

Paper crafting has been my creative outlet for many years.  Layouts and card-making are my favorites and I also donate many cards to various organizations each month, and find this so rewarding.

Thank you for the opportunity to be guest designer at White with One this month and I hope you enjoy my layout."

NOVEMBER

Wendy Watson

When I first saw the mood board for the November challenge I must admit I did panic a bit as green is not my favourite colour and I thought there would be nothing much in my stash… Well I was wrong! I mounted my layout on cardstock and used a granny apple ink with a chevron stencil on the background. I layered a striped length of paper with a textured piece and a doily that I inked. I then mounted my 3 photos with the cardstock. My embellishments include a heart cut form the striped paper, some die cut star bursts which I then inked and put glossy accents on the tips to provide a shine. I also used some thread and small plastic disks. My titles were die cuts and two stamps that were very fitting. Of course, this is one of my gorgeous grandkids.   I hope you enjoy my layouts.

Hi my name is Wendy and I am delighted to be a guest designer this month. I am married with 4 grown up sons and 3 gorgeous grandkids. I am a primary school teacher and my happy place is with my family or in my craft room. I love a many different types of craft including sewing, quilting and crochet. I have only just recently (about 2 years ago) discovered the joy of papercraft. This has certainly been my saviour during lockdowns (yes, I’m from Victoria…so I certainly know what a lockdown is!). However, this has given me a lot of time to develop my paper crafting skills. I love fussy cutting (I find it very therapeutic!) My layouts can vary from very simple to an over indulgence in embellishments. I also like using mixed media. I am also a Kaszazz consultant. https://www.kaszazz.com/consultant/wendy-watson

I have recently started a blog (very much a work in progress where I hope to continue to share my creations. https://lovewhatidocraftncreations.blogspot.com/

I also have a Facebook page as well. https://www.facebook.com/Love-What-I-Do-Craft-n-Creations-103148681463590 Feel free to pop over and have a look.

OCTOBER

Laura Rumble

I'm Laura Rumble and I'm so happy to be guesting this month!  I've been scrapping for 15+ years as I find it very therapeutic. I have fairly severe chronic M.E./C.F.S and am housebound so crafting (when my body allows) keeps me sane!

I have flipped, rotated and cropped the October sketch. Here's what I worked from...

And this is how it turned out...

I loved working with teal, I must do it more often!  When I'm not going for white with one, I'm usually going for white with ROYGBIV!  Here are a couple of my recent favourites...

SEPTEMBER

Margaret Crawford

CRITERIA - Please use at least one of the following items from the moodboard:
Flowers - Enamel Dots - Spray Ink

I covered all the mood board - Distress Oxide Sprays Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet on cardstock, flowers, cheesecloth and thread; flowers - fussy cut and dyed flowers;  dots - pearl adhesives.

Hi, Margaret Crawford here. I have retired to Umina Beach, on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW.

I have been involved in some form of craft all my life.  If you had asked me when I was at school ‘what do you want to do when you leave school’ it was always ‘become a sewing teacher’.  Well, that did not eventuate and I left school and entered into a long career in a major financial institution.  However, I did continue with knitting, sewing and embroidery whilst working and enrolled in a Commercial Needlecraft course at TAFE and this proved to a major turning point in my working life.

I was made redundant and began a business teaching patchwork and embroidery and doing major commission work.  After 9 years I went back to full-time work in another financial institution and left when my father needed care at home.  A year teaching English in China followed and then what?

These days, I love all forms of papercraft – scrapbooking and cardmaking.  I have discovered I love mixed media and this current lockdown has allowed me more time to experiment and try out new techniques.

In addition, I believe in ‘giving back’ and I support Southern Cross Kids Camps making 6” x 6” scrapbook pages for kids attending their camps.  I also make and donate cards for groups, currently making Christmas Cards for Rural Aid to send out to farmers.  If any group has a need I will help out.

I love challenges of the scrapbook kind and I thank White with 1 for the opportunity, this month, to be a guest designer.  Please enjoy my DREAM layout.

AUGUST

 Jackie Edwards

Hi! My name is Jackie Edwards and I live in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in the UK.

I am a widow but have a wonderful daughter and three beautiful grandchildren who are mostly the subjects of my layouts.

I have been scrapping for over sixteen years now. I discovered scrapbooking when I was on holiday in America when my first Grandchild was about a year old and my style has changed many times over the years. I am very lucky to have my own craft room and because I am now retired, I can scrap all day and not have to clear everything away!

I have always been involved with craft in some form – sewing, cross-stitch, cards, altered art (I love Tim Holtz!) but seem to return to scrapbooking every time. My best buy a few years ago was my Craft Robo and this has helped me with titles and images on many occasions….I now have a Cameo too which means I can now cut 12x12 files!!

I very much enjoy entering challenges because they give me the starting point for a layout, whether it’s a sketch or other criteria……..although the end result doesn’t always reflect the original design or intention! LOL

I don’t know what I would do now if I didn’t scrap!!!

I was very pleased to be asked to be GDT this month and hope that my layout might give you some inspiration for this months challenge!

Leanne Sue Tin

CRITERIA - Please use at least one of the following items from the moodboard:
Frames - Stars - Ink

Hello everyone, my name is Leanne Sue Tin.

I am married and have two children. I have been an avid crafter for many years. I started my venture with paper crafts back in the early 1980’s when I brought my very first rubber stamp. Needless to say I now have shelves full of rubber stamps.  I enjoy card making & scrapbooking. I have had the privilege of teaching, being published and have also been on a few design teams, all because of my love for paper crafts.

I would like to thank Jane & the design team from White with 1 for the opportunity of being this month’s guest designer.

JUNE
Petra Myrie

Hello...

My name is Petra and I live in the uk with my two children and work as a nurse.

I started scrapping 20 or so years ago (wow showing my age) but having kids and going to university later in life took over, however the past few years I started to get my inspiration back and created my Instagram page and started sharing my work.

I am so excited and grateful to be guest designer for White with 1 this month. Last year I was asked to be a creative guest for Comptoir du scrap which was also a fantastic opportunity.

I like painting and photography but my real passion is scrapbooking particularly pages and mini albums.

Here is link for Instagram page.

Thank you.

Antonia Sherlock

CRITERIA - Please use at least one of the following items from the moodboard:
Leaves - Alphas - Paint

Hi there! My name is Antonia and I live in the United Kingdom with my hubby and two kids. I started scrapbooking over ten years ago, to record the memories from my children’s early years…since then it has become a vital part of my life and daily routine, a source of therapy and escape! I am so excited to be guest designing for White with…1, as there was a time when me and white card stock did not get along at all! So I started playing along with the monthly challenges, just to train my eyes to get used to all that white space! In view of that, to be asked to be a guest designer for this particular blog is such an honour!

I live in the beautiful bayside suburb of Wynnum, Brisbane. I love scrapbooking, I also make all my own cards! I have four children and ten beautiful grandchildren, giving me plenty amazing snap shot moments to scrapbook. I’m a married Mum of 5 children, 4 boys and one girl, from 35years old down to 16 years old, I have two beautiful grand daughters who are the loves of my life!

I started scrapbooking to create an album for when my oldest turned 21...I haven’t stopped!

I absolutely love scrapbooking and having so many children and of course my granddaughters there is always something to create.

Two years ago I purchased Just Add Flair and love creating flair sets, I sponsor many challenges as well as scrapbooking retreats, which gives me an excuse to book in about 4 a year because it’s business...right??!!

My business is very small but I love that I can create a layout and then choose a flair to go with it, I have over 800 designs to choose from...it’s going to take me a long time to use them all...but I’m going to give it my best shot!

I was very excited to be guest designer with the White With 1 March challenge, I hope you like my page.

Regards
April x
