Hello, my name is Jane Lieshout, I live with my husband and one of my two adult children in Wellington, New Zealand. I've been scrapbooking off and on for about 18 years, I started when we were living in Australia and I was looking for a hobby when my kids started school and we had so many photos of them!

Thank you so very much for guesting with us this month Jane. It has been lovely having you join us in October.

There is still plenty of time to join in with our PINK with stitching colour challenge - entries close midnight on the last day of the month. We'd love to see your entry and don't forget stitching can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it - sew on a button, add in some faux stitching, use rub-ons or stamps or get out the needle and thread and go to town - it's totally up to you.

Welcome to October ...

Our October challenge is a nod to the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and an important time for NBCF to highlight why research in this area is so crucial. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, with 9 people losing their lives to the disease every day.

The only way to stop deaths from breast cancer is by funding research to improve our understanding of how breast cancer originates, grows and spreads so that we can stop it in its tracks. Join us to progress our vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

I don't think there would be many amongst us who haven't been touched by this insidious disease in some way - be it yourself, your grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, family member, friend or colleague, so if you can, please make a donation to this worthy cause.  Your contribution matters!

Welcome to September ...

Welcome to our SEPTEMBER challenge using ORANGE and using stamping on your layout. Thank you all so very much for all your wonderful August entries. Slate Grey never looked so good!

Something a little exciting is also happening in September! We are doing a combined moodboard challenge with Soul Scrappers Challenges which means you do the one layout, upload here and over in the Soul Scrappers Challenges monthly moodboard album and have at least two chances to win!

This year we are continuing with using a base colour and allowing you to use any variation of that colour you might like to use - light, dark, colour ranges just so long as we can tell it IS the monthly colour. The only slight difference is this year we require you to do your layout using white cardstock as your base.

We also have a simple monthly criteria for you to follow.

You can use black, dark brown, grey or navy as your accent colour for journaling, titles etc and we will allow green if part of a floral pattern. We'd love to see you take inspiration from this board and incorporate items you see and inspire you. You may be inspired by sunset/sunrise or have a passion for butterflies and wish to use some on your page.  You may wish to focus on using the shapes from this board on your page - the herringbone from the stairs or the rectangles from the windows. You might like to document a wild weather event or take inspiration from the dancing flames. Please mention what inspired you on your entry.

CRITERIA - Please use stamping on your layout

Our August guest ...

Please welcome our August guest designer, CAROLYN R WARRAN with her fantastic take on our  Slate Grey with a splash of another colour challenge this month.

My inspiration for this layout came from a number of the moodboard elements. The shoes was my pop of colour. My background was a bokeh technique I learnt on a FNL with Vicki Boutin and the background circles were from the spiky balls on the moodboard, lastly the stormy beach in my pic reminded me of the dark and stormy element of the moodboard.

My name is Carolyn and I live on the north coast of NSW. I’ve been scrapping for more than 20 years now. My favourite brands are Cocoa Vanilla, Vicky Boutin and 49 &Market. I take a lot of inspiration from sketches and Scrap lifting other talented scrappers mainly on Pinterest. I love a good challenge. And I love scrapping at retreats and crop days where I can catch up with my wonderful scrappy friends.

Thank you so very much for guesting with us this month Carolyn. It has been a delight having you join in with us.

There is still plenty of time to join in with our Slate Grey with a splash of another colour challenge - entries close midnight on the last day of the month. We'd love to see your entry - what colour will you add to the Slate Grey?
