Challenge Winners at WW1 – December / Paloma

Happy New Year, welcome to 2015!

It would seem that Paloma was a tricky colour for almost everyone in December and had more than 1 person scratching their heads and googling the colour to see its makeup. I like a good challenge, dont you ?

So you know I source all the challenge colours from the Pantone Colour Library from either the last or current seasons colour swatch finalists. I source them in 6 month batches to keep them on trend. However if you ever see a colour that you think would be a perfect challenge colour, feel free to send me an email. I had a request for Raspberry during the week, so you may see that show up before too long…

Here are the challenge winners for December, as always it is hard to choose with all the inspiring layouts that are entered – thank you to everyone that enters.

1st Place is to Karen B of a $50 prize pack from Imaginarium Designs

Post by CT Girl–Tracey Henly .. #5 in the series Where do you create?

I was lucky enough to always have this room for my craft. Its original intention of use was a formal dining room. When we first moved in I just made do with old pieces of furniture from our old houses, that didn’t have a purpose in this new house. So it did look like a jumble sale or op shop for a long time.

Back in 2012 I decided to have it custom built, I used the builder from the company I work for who constructs our school uniform shops.
These photos are when he first completed it. I did have before photos but do you think I can find them!!!!

Then I filled it up with all my goodies. I was really happy how it looked like a little craft shop.
That was until I started using it. Then of cause it looked like a bomb had hit it. LOL.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my favourite room. It is a joy to create in there.
Tracey.

A new year! .. January Challenge with WW1.

Happy New year to you all Smile  .. have you got your resolutions in place? Has that no buying or eating chocolate resolution been broken yet? Mine is a bit too easy this year, buy less scrapping supplies – I wonder how long it will take before I cave?

This month we are very lucky to be collaborating with Sketchabilities. They are an online blog that also do a challenge each month but theirs involves a sketch – absolutely perfect for WW1. So we supplied the amazing colour and they supplied a fantastic sketch – now it is up to you to use them both!

There will be MANY prizes this month and the chance to be a GUEST CT on either of the 2 blogs is also a possibility! .. I will also be showcasing my fav entries on the WW1 Facebook page too!

So create away .. using both of these..

I have been scrapping since 2007, at the beginning it was a hobby but since 2010 it has become a consuming passion.  - I live with my darling Fred and we have twin 2 ½ years girls and another daughter who is 11 years.
I do a little of everything in scrap but I have a preference for pages and mini-albums. And mostly I scrapbook my daughters or my little cousin.  My favourite colour is definitely pink in all shades of it from pastel to neon.
What inspires me the most for my scrapbooking are my daughters, I also like to spend hours watching pinterest galleries where I find the colours, that make me want to scrap. I live in a tiny village in southern Ard├Ęche western France. A little paradise in the countryside.

Challenge Winners– November

It has been a crazy few weeks here at WW1 headquarters! .. a very big apology from myself for not getting this out sooner!

I moved house/states with all the best intentions to stay on top of my WW1 commitments and still get this out to you on the 15th as I do each month, but a cranky child, and no internet connection in some caravan parks along the way meant it didn’t happen!

A BIG BIG Thankyou everyone that played along!

I would like to THANK our sponsors for November, they make playing along with the challenge each month and viewing all the amazing entries so worthwhile!

Post by CT Girl–Heidi Barclay .. #4 in the series Where do you create?

PROFILE PIC HEIDI copy
Hello everyone, today I am going to take you on a walk around my scrappy area. I am fortunate enough to have my own room, which is actually a spare room but rarely gets used so that is quite lucky really.

Here is my what my desk area looks like (and yes I have cleaned it nicely especially for this room share.
clip_image002

The idea behind buying this writing desk was to be able to close it up when I am not using it, but that’s just far too much hassle so I leave it open most of the time and it’s normally a lot messier. Here is a close up of what I have in front of me when I am working
clip_image004

clip_image005

So there are some essentials which I keep fairly close to me, on the right or left.

,
clip_image007
Right in front of me you can see some tins and circle tins, I keep all my flairs, enamel dots, rubons etc in the old Maya Road tins

clip_image009

and then I used a metal spice rack which I put some of my sequence, wooden embellishments and bits and bobs in.

clip_image011

I have used an old wooden crate (small one) for my collection of washi tape.

clip_image013

My Mists and Distress Inks are in a similar wooden crate which we received as a gift with a bottle of wine in it. Perfect use for mists and I slot in my favourite masks just behind it.

clip_image015clip_image017

To the left of me I have a little shelf which contains my Alpha’s (in a plastic box), my washi tape, my mixed media stuff and just general stickers / embellishments - and right next to that on the floor I keep my 12x12 papers in a plastic box which is perfect for 12x12 pp’s.

and last but not least, I have created a banner on the wall next to me where I can hang up some of my favourite layouts to inspire me. As you can see my space isn’t that large, but it’s my space to retreat to and create.

Thanks for dropping by.
